Quantumult is a robust proxy client that offers various protocols such as Shadowsocks(r), HTTP, HTTP over TLS, SOCKS5, and SOCKS5 over TLS.

With its Filter function, Quantumult can capture and redirect TCP traffic according to your preferences. The filter supports different types of matches depending on the upper layer protocol. For TCP traffic with HTTP(S) protocol, it supports matches based on 'HOST', 'HOST-SUFFIX', 'HOST-KEYWORD', 'USER-AGENT', 'GEOIP', and 'IP-CIDR'. For other TCP traffic, it supports matches based on 'GEOIP' and 'IP-CIDR'. Notably, when dealing with HTTP(S) traffic, Quantumult offers a Rejection function that matches the entire URL of the request.

After a match is found, the filter provides various actions to handle the request. These actions include built-in policies like 'DIRECT', 'REJECT', and 'PROXY', as well as your own server choices and customized policies. In essence, the filter acts as a decision-making tool to determine which requests go through which path.

Furthermore, Quantumult can serve as a convenient web development tool on mobile devices. Even when you're on the road without access to debugging tools like Charles and Wireshark on Mac platforms, Quantumult can log parts of web requests to help with debugging. It can log all the HTTP(S) request headers and response headers, including HTTPS headers (after installing and trusting Quantumult root CA for this advanced function).

While Quantumult's PROXY function allows for traffic redirection to remote proxy servers, it's important to note that the application does not provide any server-side service or support; users must set up their own servers.

As mentioned earlier, Quantumult's filter function allows for TCP traffic redirection, enabling visits to different websites through different servers based on the filter settings. This can potentially accelerate network connections if set up correctly, and the filter itself is fully customizable.

Regarding customized policies, Quantumult offers three different types: 'SSID', 'Latency', and 'Static'. The 'SSID' policy is based on your network environment, such as Wi-Fi, Cellular, or a specific Wi-Fi network with the provided SSID. The 'Latency' policy selects servers based on their latencies; the result being the shortest latency (with test intervals of 600 or 1200 seconds). The 'Static' policy allows manual selection of servers or other policies from the policy settings. It's worth noting that certain policies can wrap other policies for added convenience.

In terms of working states, Quantumult operates in three modes: 'GLOBAL', 'DIRECT', and 'AUTO'. In the 'GLOBAL' state, all TCP traffic is redirected through the built-in PROXY policy (users need to set up and add their own servers). The 'DIRECT' state bypasses filter settings and directs all TCP traffic directly to the destination website. This state can be useful for simple web development tasks, as it allows analysis of request and response headers, including HTTPS. The 'AUTO' state is named as such because it divides TCP traffic through different paths based on the filter settings, similar to the popular ACL method.

Additionally, Quantumult can also function as an HTTP proxy server for devices connected to the same Wi-Fi network. When this feature is enabled, the home view displays the IP address and port for easy connection by other devices.

A few points to note: The location displayed on the home view map is not the actual real-world location but rather the IP location, which may not always be accurate.
